About My Homecare

Our mission is to meet the needs of people who either through illness or injury, have difficulty maintaining their independence and quality of life whilst continuing to live in their own homes.

Our Home Carers are available throughout the UK providing a quality, first class care service for people who need help and assistance in their own home. From simple visits where a little help is required, through to full complex care packages, our carers arrive at pre-arranged times and are provided with the time, training and commitment to care for the person.

We help people who either through illness or injury, require assistance to maintain their well-being, whilst continuing to live in their own home and neighbourhood. The people we help may be young or old. They may require assistance short term following an operation or they may have an illness or injury that may affect the way they live, therefore requiring our care services long term.

We provide a range of care services from DOMICILIARY CARE, CLEANING / DOMESTIC CARE and specialist care services including LIVE-IN CARE and BEFRIENDING.

Being a national provider and with over 15 years’ experience of providing care services, My Homecare offers a responsive care service for an individuals changing needs. Our increasing network of branches are run by professional and experienced care managers, who are also supported by our head office senior care team.

My Homecare offer an individual tailored package for individuals and families in your local area. Our manager’s care assessment will ensure the care and support plans are person centred around the needs of the service user. Our care teams will always ensure the best possible care services for you or your loved one.

Each office is registered or working towards registration with the Care Quality Commission in England or the Care Inspectorate in Scotland, to ensure continuity and compliance of care across the My Homecare network. The CQC and Care Inspectorate are government bodies who regulate care provided by private care companies, doctors surgeries, hospitals and care homes. Some of our newer branches are seeking registration will offer a reduced number of services, such as domestic, laundry and meal preparation services until such time as they are registered.

My Homecare branches and Partner companies are trained and regulated by My Homecare and use our quality trade mark logo.

Our Carers in every branch are recruited following a stringent selection process. Each must provide their previous work references and will have an enhanced police check (DBS). Carer’s will have undergone / will undergo care training and will be qualified to diploma level. They are fully insured for providing our services.

With our Live in care services there are also a number of trusted self-employed experienced carers we can also introduce to you. We find this increases your choice of carer and we have had a lot of success allocating self-employed carers. My Homecare will only introduce self- employed carers who have again, been fully checked by ourselves and who have appropriate experience, training and insurance. We will allocate and oversee the care they provide ensuring you always receive the support which has been planned.

All of our staff are fully checked, inducted, trained and certificated in accordance with Skills for Care.

Services We Offer

All our care staff will carry identification badges, clearly visible for our clients. They will be dressed in appropriate uniforms and be fully informed of each and every service user’s care and support needs.

Palliative care and care of the dying

Care Support Plans

Our care and support plans are your care and support plans, developed between our care managers and yourself (or your relatives). They are designed around your specific needs and what you expect to achieve with our help.

Our care and support plans are about enabling people to live as independently as possible and promoting dignity and respect for all.  All aspects of the assistance we give must be approved by you.

Your Care Plan is developed following the Initial Needs Assessment completed by one of our managers and all information held is completely confidential. Care Plans basically explain routine tasks to be undertaken by carers, at the specific times agreed.

Information will be left at your address for both you and your carer, and this includes a Service User Guide, a copy of your Care Plan including associated Risk Assessments, our contact numbers, complaints procedure and other useful information.

The risk assessments are completed to identify any risks that may occur during a visit, to either the carer or the client.  Risk assessments are designed to protect people against known dangers not to stop clients doing what they want to do.

Regular reviews of care and support we provide start from day one and will continue throughout your time with My Homecare.  We expect to complete a formal face to face review every 3 month as well as making regular telephone quality checks. Our quality assurance policy ensures that you and your loved ones are happy and that we’re doing everything we can to support you.

If you are not fully satisfied with your carer, we encourage you to inform us through our quality assurance program and complaints policy. Our quality assurance policy ensures that you and your loved ones are happy and that we’re doing everything we can to support you.

If you ever feel you need someone to speak on your behalf, either to ourselves or others providing your care and support, then you can use an advocate. Advocates are people who are independent and could help you to express your views, opinions and wishes, and to obtain impartial advice.

Most people prefer to remain in the privacy and comfort of their own home, but with  a level of support of assistance from a carer to help them maintain their independence.

The Process

Following your initial contact our regional care manager will make an appointment to visit your home if you wish, within 72 hours, to address any questions or concerns you may have.

As an experienced qualified manager they will discuss how a Care Support Plan with My Homecare may help. This normally takes around 2 hours. You will receive all the information you need helping you to make an informed choice about your preferred interventions and care services.

Bedford rated “GOOD” in recent inspection. 

Our Bedford branch are kicking off September with great feedback from their official CQC Inspection and an official rating as GOOD. Great news and great team effort with support offered via our Franchise Management Team.

We have launched our National My Homecare Carer Of The Month.

We are delighted to announce our first winner, Kathryn Thompson from the My Homecare Yorkshire Team, well done Yorkshire! The entries for September are already coming in so watch this space for our next National Carer of the Month winner.

Double celebrations this month as the My Homecare Manchester branch who with the help and guidance of our experts in our My Homecare Franchise department are now an approved provider for Trafford Council.

Another well deserved pat on the back this month goes to My Homecare Reading who secured their first big contract.

This month we introduced our “Carer on Call” logo.

My Homecare Crowborough have seen their branch grow from strength to strength since getting their registration in 2016.  The team are working hard and have got themselves well and truely “on the map” the demand for their professional services is really helping build thier branch, so much so that they have recently moved into bigger premises to accomodate their growing team of carers and office staff.

-We are looking for a Registered Manager for our new branch in Cheshire. My Homecare is a fast growing franchise with new branches opening nationally. With this new start up branch for Cheshire we require an experienced manager ready for the challenge that it will provide. Working from our office in Cheshire you will be the senior member of the team and be responsible for the efficient and smooth running of the operations alongside growth of the branch. The postition is full time and salary is £26,000 – £30,000.

This month has seen another addition to the My Homecare Management team. We now have Quality, Compliance and Tendering Manager Dr Cameron Latimer on board. Cameron has extensive knowledge of tender acquisition and business development. The Care Quality Commission play a crucial role in maintaining standards within the care industry. The CQC visit care organisations and carry out thorough inspections to ensure the company is working to an acceptable and safe standard.

We are excited to announce that we have opened up our new My Homecare Franchise Training Centre based in the centre of Durham. The training centre is ideally located for our franchisee’s who travel up North to see us, it is also used as a great base for our central Durham carers that work alongside our other local office based in Consett, Co Durham.

We now provide care in the area of Crowborough area with our latest branch getting the thumbs up form the CQC this month. Well done to the My Homecare Crowborough team, we look forward to hearing great things.

Great things coming from the My Homecare Yorkshire branch, the team have just secured a new contract with the local Yorkshire Council after receiving an SOS call for urgent care for a variety of local people in the West Selby area. The My Homecare Yorkshire team pulled out all of the stops to ensure they could cover the 200 hours of care for the people of West Selby.

Both sides are happy with the new contract and My Homecare Yorkshire believe it is the start of a great working relationship.

November was a busy month for our My Homecare branch in Middlesborough

Exciting times for Ghazala at our new My Homecare Middlesborough branch, she now has an experienced Manager in Zoe and has located a great office to run the Middlesborough branch from. They are looking to commence their care services in parts of Cleveland in the new year

Every year a select group of our brave care workers and an equally brave service user, compete in the Great North Run. Well done to everyone who competes and raises money for charity. This year our crew collected over £1000 for St. Oswalds Hospice so that’s brilliant. Super work guys

My  Homecare latest inspection report from Durham County Council is very positive. Amongst the feedback provided from our inspectors was an amazing score of 100% for our Person Centred Approach to care. Well done to all the staff in the Durham branch.
