Payment Options

Care Support Plans

Our care and support plans are your care and support plans, developed between our care managers and yourself (or your relatives). They are designed around your specific needs and what you expect to achieve with our help.

Our care and support plans are about enabling people to live as independently as possible and promoting dignity and respect for all.  All aspects of the assistance we give must be approved by you.

Your Care Plan is developed following the Initial Needs Assessment completed by one of our managers and all information held is completely confidential. Care Plans basically explain routine tasks to be undertaken by carers, at the specific times agreed.

Information will be left at your address for both you and your carer, and this includes a Service User Guide, a copy of your Care Plan including associated Risk Assessments, our contact numbers, complaints procedure and other useful information.

The risk assessments are completed to identify any risks that may occur during a visit, to either the carer or the client.  Risk assessments are designed to protect people against known dangers not to stop clients doing what they want to do.

Regular reviews of care and support we provide start from day one and will continue throughout your time with My Homecare.  We expect to complete a formal face to face review every 3 month as well as making regular telephone quality checks. Our quality assurance policy ensures that you and your loved ones are happy and that we’re doing everything we can to support you.

A copy of our Review Policy detailing how and when we will review your care is available from the office.

If you are not fully satisfied with your carer, we encourage you to inform us through our quality assurance program and complaints policy. Our quality assurance policy ensures that you and your loved ones are happy and that we’re doing everything we can to support you.

If you ever feel you need someone to speak on your behalf, either to ourselves or others providing your care and support, then you can use an advocate. Advocates are people who are independent and could help you to express your views, opinions and wishes, and to obtain impartial advice.

Our mission is to meet the needs of people of any age, who either through illness or injury, have difficulty maintaining their independence and quality of life whilst continuing to live in their own homes.

Most people prefer to remain in the privacy and comfort of their own home, but with  a level of support of assistance from a carer to help them maintain their independence.

How Do I Pay?

You may have concerns about the costs involved in getting care and support at home. But if you have been assessed as needing care, you will also be assessed to see how much you can afford to pay towards the cost of services, while still having enough money to live on.

The amount that social services departments pay towards care on your behalf varies depending on your local authority, although there are minimum requirements. When you have an assessment, your needs will be judged to see whether you’re eligible for services under the national eligibility criteria.

If you’re found to have eligible needs the local authority has a duty to meet those needs but can charge for services.

The cost of our service is priced by the half hour, hour, day or priced by the week . Our Care Manager can let you know the exact price you will be expected to pay once the support plan has been developed at your home.

Some people require more intense care intervention than others, therefore prices are comparative to the level of support you require. You may be able to claim some level of financial assistance from the Local Authority and this will also be discussed with our Care Manager during the visit. We will be able to give you information and assist in helping you enquire into whether you are entitled to financial assistance.

Whilst the cost of live-in care and care homes is comparable, the level of personalised care certainly isn’t. We know that value for money and transparent pricing are very important to our customers.

My Homecare employ an assessment manager who will determine your individual care requirements, giving you the complete breakdown of the cost of your care service once your initial appraisal is complete.

Our live-in care services are discounted heavily against the standard hourly charged for other home care services, such that it becomes a genuinely affordable alternative to moving to a residential home.

Ultimately, the real value of our live-in service is that it enables you or your loved one to continue living independently at home, in familiar and comfortable surroundings.

Paying For Your Care

We will always provide you with a clear, complete breakdown of our costs and easy ways for you to pay for your care. No matter if you are only considering a small amount of care at home, our manager will provide you with an accurate cost before you choose to go ahead. If you need to cancel or suspend your service at any time, we ask only for 2 weeks notice.

Social Services Financial Assistance

If the council has assessed you and you need care and support, you will then be means tested to see how much you need to contribute, if anything, and how much the council will pay towards our service. We can organise this means test if you have not already been in touch with your local authority.

Depending on which area you live in, you may also have the option of using a personal budget or direct payment to meet your needs. A personal budget or direct payment aims to provide you with greater control for the interventions, duration and visit times of your care service. My Homecare are happy to manage your care and give you greater control through a personal budget or direct payment.

The Process

Following your initial contact our regional care manager will make an appointment to visit your home if you wish, within 72 hours, to address any questions or concerns you may have.

As an experienced qualified manager they will discuss how a Care Support Plan with My Homecare may help. This normally takes around 2 hours. You will receive all the information you need helping you to make an informed choice about your preferred interventions and care services.
